Instrumentum (Anglice: tool)

Is the lemma Instrumentum rusticum intended to include all kinds of tools, such as instrumenta lapidea that our ancestors used 100,000 years ago? or the sticks that chimpanzees use to elicit isoptera from their mounds? or the twigs that woodpecker finches use to stir up insects? or the stones that sea otters use to smash abalone shells? If not, Vicipaedia should surely have a more general article—on just plain Instrumentum = en:Tool. IacobusAmor 12:43, 25 Martii 2009 (UTC)

There's no good reason to limit this term to machinery, but actually the en:wiki "agricultural machinery" seems to be defined very widely and to equate with what I call an "agricultural implement", so, perhaps, no problem.

My answer to Iacobus's question is that "rusticum" only makes sense in opposition to "urbanum" and in normal Latin usage applies to "agricultural life/work", so it would not make sense to apply this term to non-human or to pre-Neolithic use of tools. d:Q39546 would simply be "instrumentum", possibly with a disambiguating term.
