Verbum supernum prodiens est hymnus adventum natalemque Christi celebrans, ab auctore anonymo fortasse saeculo X[1] scriptus, qui his verbis incipit:

Verbum supernum prodiens,
A Patre olim exiens,
Qui natus orbi suvenis
Cursu declivi temporis.

In Breviario Romano anni 1632, pro secundo versu subsituta sunt verba "E Patris aeterno sinu".
