Ophiologia (Graece ophis 'serpens' + logos 'scientia') est provincia herpetologiae (studii reptilium et amphibiorum) quae scientificam serpentium investigationem tractat, historia naturali moribusque animalium non exceptis. Qui serpentibus studeat ophiologus appellatur. Multi ophiologi professionales operam in hortis zoologicis locant, sed ophiologi amatores tantum serpentes ut animalia dilecta domi plerumque conservant.
