Mahometus Bucharius,[1] plenius Arabice محمد بن إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن المغيرة البخاري Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm b. al-Muġīra al-Buḫārī al-Ǧuʿfī (natus die 21 Iulii 810; mortuus Maracandae 1 Septembris 870), sive Bukhārī (Persice Nastaliq, بخاری), "Imam" a pluribus appellatus, fuit Persicus[2][3][4] eruditus Islamicus qui Bocharae, in capite Transoxianae regionis Bocharae (in Uzbecia hodierna), ortus est. Auctor erat Sahih al-Bukhari, collectionis hadit, quam Musulmani Sunnitici unam e praestantibus maximeque genuinis collectionibus talibus (sahih) habent, cum Sahih Muslim, collectione Muslim Nisaburensis. Al-Adab al-Mufrad aliosque libros etiam conscripsit.[5]
