Cortex cerebri est stratum externum hemisphaeriorum cerebri in mammaliis, ubi intra sex stratis I-VI variae cellulae nervales locatae sunt, simulque numerus neuronorum adeo magnus est, ut complicatio necessaria esset[1]. in cortice computationes extensivae expediuntur[2].

Cortex cerebri etiam substantia grisea dicitur. Dividitur cortex fissura longitudinali in corticem dextrum et sinistrum.
