Punica granatum (binomen a Linnaeo anno 1758 statutum) seu in Latinitate classica punica malus est arbor familiae Lythracearum, cuius fructus, "malum granatum" vel malogranatum appellatus, edi potest. Planta fuit signum imperatoris Maximiliani I et Regni Granatae.
