Ptahhotep (Aegyptice ptāħ ħwtp)[2] saeculis 25 a.C.n. exeunte et 24 a.C.n. ineunte fuit scriptor et primus minister Aegypti antiquae, Tanchere (Djedkare Isesi) pharaone domus quintae regnante. Auctor fuit Instructionis Ptahhotep,[3] primum exemplum litterarum sapientiae Aegyptiarum, ad iuvenes de propriis moribus docendos destinatum. Ei fuit Akhethotep filius, qui etiam primus minister meruerit. Ptahhotep prolesque sub mastaba in Necropoli Saqqara sepulti sunt.
