Reginaldum e [[Francia]] ortum, ab oppido quodam nomine "Castellio" (seu vulgo ''Châtillon'') appellato, satis constat. [[Carolus du Fresne, Dominus du Cange|Carolus Du Cange]] ''[[Châtillon-sur-Loire]]'' originem fuisse censuit.,<ref>[[Carolus du Fresne, Dominus du Cange|Du Cange]] (1869) p. 191</ref> sed Ioannes Richard Reginaldum filium esse natu alterum [[Herveus II de Donciaco|Hervei de Donciaco]], ex oppido (haud longe ab illo distanti) ''[[Châtillon-Coligny|Châtillon-sur-Loing]]'' ortum. Anno [[1147]] Cruce signatus in [[Secunda expeditio sacra|secunda expeditione sacra]] a Francia abiit annoque insequenti [[Antiochia]]m advenit et mox ad aulam [[Constantia Antiochiae|Constantiae]], Antiochiae principissa et [[Raimundus Pictaviensis|Raimundi Pictaviensis]] viduae (qui anno 1149 in proelio interfectus erat).
