Buffestra (-ae, f.; vulgo Buckfastleigh) est oppidum Devoniae quod iacet ad finem ferriviae quae Totenai incipit. Ibi nundinae tenebantur ab anno 1353, mercatus autem ab anno 1460.[1]
Prope Buffestram abbatia Ordinis Cisterciensis catholica erat. Saeculo XIX, abbatia de novo condita est. et nunc Ordinis Benedictinorum est. Qua re abbatia coniuncta est cum aliis monasteriis Benedictinorum.
Viatores a Totenai ferrivia pervetere Buffestram adventi a statione ferriviaria pervetere coenautocineto iter ad oppidum et abbatiam persequi possunt, quod coenautocinetum inter abbatiam et stationem huc illuc currit.
