Populares fuerunt factio in Republica Romana. Adstatores factionis, etiam vocati "Populares," Senatum esse nimium validum putantes, plebes confirmatas esse cupiverunt. "Conservativi" Optimates Populares novarum rerum cupidi advorsati? sunt. Bellatores sunt in Bello Civili et Bello Civili Altero, a Gaio Mario in primo ducti et ab Iulio Caesare in altero.
