Philosophia religionis est "philosophica materiarum et notionum mediarum in traditionibus religiosis implicatarum investigatio."[1][2] Disciplina antiqua est, in primis manuscriptis notis de philosophia inventis, atque aliis philosophiae et cogitationis generalis ramis coniungitur, inter quos metaphysica, logica, historia.[3] Philosophia religionis temporibus classicis pars metaphysicae habebatur.
