Mentha spicata (binomen a Carolo Linnaeo statutum)[1] est planta perennis generis Menthae quae naturá per Europam meridianam Asiamque meridioccidentalem crescit in terris humidioribus;[2][3] alibi in hortis colitur, et crebriter in artibus culinariis adhibetur. In regione Magnorum Lacuum est species invasiva, ibi primum anno 1843 reperta.[4] Cum Mentha aquatica hybridam nomine "Mentha × piperita" gignit.
