Lares Romanis di minores adiuvantes erant familiarum (lares familiares) vel locorum (lares loci) vel oppidorum (lares publici) vel (tri)viarum. Semper pie venerantur. Lares credebantur servare, protegere, affectare omnes quae eveniant intra fines loci vel muneris suorum. Statuas domesticorum Larium ponebantur super mensa in cibum familiae. Praesentiae suorum requiri videntur in momentis eventibus familiis .
