Ab anno 1952 in Theatro Magno (Russice Большой театр, tr. Bol'šoj teatr) Moscuae favebat operi, anno 1966 titulo Artificis Popularis URSS ornata. Amica Demetrii Szostakowicz, operas eius (inter alia, Леди Макбет Мценского уезда et Symphonia XIV) cantavit. Et amica Beniamini Britten, operam suam "War Requiem" cantavit.

Anno 1974 cum marito suo Mstislao Rostropovicz emigravit, postea civitatem URSS atque signa laudis Sovietica adempta, in CFA et Francia colebat. Anno 1984 librum nomine Galina («Галина») scripsit, de vita sua narrantem et eos qui Unionis Sovieticae praestabant deferentem. Anno 1990 civitatem signaque laudis URSS denuo recepit, denuo ad Russiam venit, professor honorata Conservatorii Moscuensis facta.
