Aestate anni 1936, Franco seditionem contra Secundam Rem Publicam movit. Die 30 Septembris eiusdem anni a suis praeses ministrorum Hispaniae nominatus est. Tribus annis post bellum civile dux Hispaniae usque ad mortem fuit.
