Blasonierung
„In Blau eine goldene Linde mit vierzehn Blätern über einem goldenenn Schildfuß, belegt mit einem schreitenden blauen rot bewehrten Löwen.“[1]
Der Rat der Gemeinde Edemissen beschloss das von Wilhelm Krieg entworfene vorstehend beschriebene Wappen am 27. November 1974. Der Regierungspräsident in Hildesheim genehmigte es am 2. April 1975.

  1. Die nicht den heraldischen Gepflogenheiten entsprechende Wappenbeschreibung in § 2 der Hauptsatzung der Gemeinde Edemissen lautet:
    „Das Wappen der Gemeinde Edemissen zeigt im Schildfuß in Gold einen blauen schreitenden Löwen, bewehrt mit roten Krallen und roter Zunge, darüber in blau eine goldene symmetrisch dargestellte Linde mit 14 Blättern.“
