Summarium

Descriptio
English: Uffculme: Factory Cottages. These cottages – together with a weir and remains of a leat on the Culm – are all that remain of the water-powered Bradfield Mill complex, once owned by the Upcott family of Cullompton. Woollen cloth was manufactured here and the machinery and plant were for sale in 1870. There was also a water-powered fulling mill on site. The complex was rebuilt after a major fire in 1822. Following the machinery sale the buildings were eventually demolished, excepting these cottages
