Descriptio
English: Hippocampal morphology of the four rodent species. Mid-septotemporal hippocampus of the four rodent species presented for the first time: (A) muskrat (Ondatra zibethicus), (B) bank vole (Myodes glareolus), (C) sand rat (Psammomys obesus), and (D) cotton rat (Sigmodon hispidus). The brains were sectioned horizontally, and images were taken in sections immediately following the disappearance of the septal pole of the dentate gyrus. Arrows mark the boundaries between subdivisions at the level of the cell layer(s). Scale bars: 250 μm.
