Descriptio
English: Confederate dead behind the stone wall of Marye's Heights, Virginia, killed during the Second Battle of Fredericksburg, which was in the eastern portion of the May 1863 Battle of Chancellorsville. The previous battle was in December 1862. According to the NARA caption, this photo is from the 1863 battle. The 6th Maine Infantry penetrated the Confederate lines at this point.
