Dromaeosauridae (a Graeco δρομεύς 'cursor' et σαῦρος 'lacertus') sunt familia dinosaurorum theropodum avibus similium, plumis enim praediti sunt, quorum character praecipuus est maximus unguis falciformis secundi digiti pedis. Anglica aliisque linguis saepe raptores appellantur, quod vocabulum populo notum in pellicula Jurassic Park anni 1993 factum est. In hac pellicula Velociraptor una ex primis "personis" est, etsi nomine tantum, quia vero "raptores" (sic enim in opere Dromaeosauridae vocantur) ficti Deinonycho similiores sunt quam Velociraptori.
