Why did you revert the last edit at Formula:Veterrimus homo vivens? It appears to have been correct. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 10:30, 27 Maii 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[fontem recensere]

There's no suggestion of vandalism. It's against our usual rule to have both categories on one page, "Urbes Chiliae" and "Chilia", since one is a subcategory of the other (see Vicipaedia:De categoriis. As for the date of foundation, when you add this to the text (preferably with a source, but that's not essential if the fact is not controversial) then it will be sensible to have it in the categories as well. Categories should arise from the text or be explained in it. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:31, 5 Iunii 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah okay. Diego Grez 17:35, 5 Iunii 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Diego. Thanks for moving those pages for which we had no source of the Latin name. Good idea! Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 08:50, 10 Augusti 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, Andrew! Although there are still lots of pages on Chilean geographic places which use "Latinized" but unreferenced names, will try to complete the job on Sunday. Cheers, Diego Grez (disputatio) 13:53, 10 Augusti 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It might save time to ask the author about it. He could be working from an ecclesiastical source that's not on the internet and therefore can't be googled, but which he could easily add as a reference, if only he knew that doing so would accommodate Vicipaedia's customs more fully. The regions articles were created by an anonymous user which hasn't edited since September 2006 [1]. The authors of the cities articles might have used the names employed in the regions articles to create them. (I did that too two years ago, when I created Pitzilemum, but in fact there was no source to support the Latinization.) Diego Grez (disputatio) 15:42, 10 Augusti 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and these pagenames had been marked "Fontes desiderati". It was time for the next step, I think. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:28, 10 Augusti 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I moved back ...[fontem recensere]

... from "Sanctus Petrus Paxiae". What is the source for "Paxiae"? It doesn't seem likely. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 16:31, 17 Aprilis 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I searched for an equivalent of La Paz (the name of the Bolivian capital) and it came out to be Paxia. That's my source :-P Küñall (disputatio) 17:24, 17 Aprilis 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for answering so quickly! It's not a well-formed Latin word. We need to do more work on "La Paz", and it wouldn't be safe to transfer that name to another place. Better wait and aim to find a source about this specific place if we can. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:36, 17 Aprilis 2014 (UTC)[reply]
