{{delenda}} and babel formulae[fontem recensere]

A while ago in the taberna you were looking for someone to go through the delenda category and sort it, and I said that I was under the impression that only admins could delete. If this is not the case, how do I delete something. I would volunteer if I knew how. The other thing is, I noticed your babel box has a hard black line around it. How did you effect this? I would like to put a hard black line around the flags on Vicipaedia:Babel formulae so that flags with unbordered white like Russia or Japan won't blend in with the page. Thanks.--Ioshus Rocchio 01:36, 25 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)

Vicicollaboratio?[fontem recensere]

On the taberna an idea came up for have a 'lingua latina' wikiproject. I, Roland2 and Ioshus Rocchio discussed this and think it is a good idea. We came up with the term Vicicollaboratio for Wikiproject. Ioshus Rocchio advised I check it with you before using it, do you think it is acceptable? If so, Vicipaedia:Vicicollaboratio Lingua Latina can begin in earnest. Thank you. Daniel () 19:30, 26 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)

admins[fontem recensere]

Don't worry about the delay. I think Myces went through the delenda page. What's the procedure for electing/selecting admins? I'm interested in whatever I can do to help, but I don't know if I have been active long enough/have enough edits. It seems, at least on EN, that 1000 edits are standard before anyone is an admin...I have 800ish.--Ioshus Rocchio 02:42, 4 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Adminship![fontem recensere]

Dear Tbook,

after reading your dialogue about adminship I decided to take it seriously: I see the three of you have different abilities, but the perfect admin doesn't still exist: only collaboration between admins works, so look here and consider what I just wrote. If you don't like it rest assured that there's no bad intention. - εΔω 15:11, 12 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Categoria:People by profession[fontem recensere]

Hello Tbook, I needed this "people by profession" in addition to "professions" (munera). My idea:

  • Professions: poeta, musicus, ...
  • People by profession: poetae (having Homerus, Camus, ...), musici, ...

I think these many professions in "homines" and these many populi/gentes in "homines" should be grouped in "people by profession" and "populi/gentes/..." (= people by nation). --Roland2 20:22, 14 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Do you think Categoria:Poetae ought to be a subcategory of Categoria:Munera or that there should be something like Categoria:Homines secundum officium in addition to Munera? --Tbook 19:06, 17 Maii 2006 (UTC)

I think there should be two categories, but I am not sure ... maybe something like this:
- Biographia (at the moment "Homines")
     - Biographia (= the main article)
     - People by nation
     - People by religion
     - People by year of birth
     - People by profession (= Homines secundum officium?)
           - Poetae
                Poeta (= the main article)
                Horatius
                Catullus
           - Magistri
           - Musici
- Munera
     - Munus (= the main article)
     - Poeta (= the article)
     - Magister (= the article)
So category "poetae" would not be categorized in category "munera" because "peteae" keeps just people, but "poeta" would be categorized both in "munera" and "poetae" because it is a munerus and the main article of "poetae".
See this:
"People by nation" contains people, "Nations" contains nations
"People by birth" contains people, "Years of birth" contains years
"People by professions" contains people, "Munera" contains (just) munera

--Roland2 19:48, 17 Maii 2006 (UTC)

At the moment we have Categoria:Homines but Vicipaedia:Articuli quos omnes Vicipaediae habeant has Categoria:Biographia. Categoria:Biographia is used by some of the articles we are now having. So we have both categories at the moment. I think Vicipaedia:Articuli quos omnes Vicipaediae habeant is much clearer than our actual system, however, I do not know what others think about moving to Vicipaedia:Articuli quos omnes Vicipaediae habeant. --Roland2 21:28, 19 Maii 2006 (UTC)

This might confuse you after our discussion ... mabe just Categoria:Munera would be ok and we should put e. g. Categoria:Poetae into that category? What's the idea behind our categorization?
  1. A category is a word in plural form, an article is a word in singular form?
  2. An article should not be categorized in several levels but only in several branches? Levels: History, European History, German History. Branches: History, People, Geography, ...
The concept should be written down. See http://la.wikipedia.org/wiki/VP:TP#Vicipaedia:De_categoriis --Roland2 16:26, 21 Maii 2006 (UTC)

What about creating a page Vicipaedia:Categoria and discussing the questions there? (Similar to Vicipaedia:Articulus.) "Filesystem" means that each category has just one parent category. We might not want this. ;-) Problems arise when a category can have more than one parent category. I think "Homines" should not be a toplevel category. It should be below "Society" (Societas hominum) ... I am not sure ... maybe "Munera" should be just under "Homines"? Maybe we should have extra "Shortcuts" like "*Homines" on the top level in "*Shortcuts"? - Singular titles, like William Shakespeare or Germany ... ok, we will not have "Germanies", although it would be much easier to build such titles in Latin ;-) I think these singular titles are another class of categories. Recently I found an interesting discussion about categorization in the German Wikipedia. They had very intersting ideas ... I think I'll start Vicipaedia:Categoria ... we have too many discussions just on user pages ;-) --Roland2 20:41, 21 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Paginae Annorum[fontem recensere]

Please see http://la.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disputatio_Usoris:UV#Deletion_of_178._dec._et_al I think we should have a page, maybe Vicipaedia:Paginae annorum, where we can keep the results of the discussion ... and discuss the ideas on that talk page ;-) --Roland2 07:57, 25 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Vicipaedia:Magistratus[fontem recensere]

After the clear votum on Vicipaedia:Petitio magistratus, I asked the stewards to assign you (and the two other candidates) administrator rights, which they did.

Congratulations, glad to have you here! (And good luck with the new tasks – you may have noticed my inclination for quickly filling up the Categoria:Deletiones propositae …)

Thank you all. I hope that I may be of service. --Tbook 17:38, 2 Iunii 2006 (UTC)

Ciao --Massimo Macconi 11:14, 1 Septembris 2006 (UTC)

Grazie a te! --Tbook 13:51, 2 Septembris 2006 (UTC)

RE:Thanks for all the work[fontem recensere]

Tbook, no problem. I expect for their to be controversy over controversial subjects, and I guess some of me edits may have not been as NPOV as they should have. Eitherway, I really do enjoy the latin wikipedia, and intend to work on a wide selection of articles in the future. :-) Alexanderr 16:26, 3 Septembris 2006 (UTC)

Oh yeah, and thank you for thanking me. :) Alexanderr 16:26, 3 Septembris 2006 (UTC)

Hi Tbook, could you please take a look at the files you have uploaded and specify author, source and licence for each of them? Especially for the files that you created yourself, please. Thanks! --UV 00:19, 27 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)

Inactivity and administrator rights[fontem recensere]

Dear Tbook, it has been a while since you last contributed actively to Vicipaedia. Recently, it was discussed on Vicipaedia that, as a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of an admin account to be compromised (as has happened on en.wikipedia on at least one occasion), the administrator rights of inactive administrators could be temporarily suspended until the admin returns and wishes to resume activity.

So, I would like to invite you: Do come back and continue to contribute to Vicipaedia, a free encyclopedia in the Latin language! Even if you do not have much time to spare for Vicipaedia at the moment, please just log in to your account and reply "hello" to this message on your user talk page, and your admin rights will be secured for the next couple of months.

If we do not hear from you, your administrator rights will be temporarily revoked one month from now, but this should not hinder you to come back later, say "I'm here again" and get back your administrator rights instantaneously.

(If you do not intend to contribute to Vicipaedia any more, which we would regret very much, you can request removal of your admin status on the appropriate page on meta.)

Please do not hesitate to contact me or anyone in the Vicipaedia:Taberna with any question on Vicipaedia you might have. Thank you for all your past service, and hope to see you soon again! Greetings, --UV (disputatio) 19:49, 14 Septembris 2012 (UTC)

Dear Tbook, your administrator rights have now been temporarily suspended. Please do come back to Vicipaedia whenever you would like to (and you will be given back admin rights immediately if you like). Again, thank you for all your past service, and hope to see you soon again! Greetings, --UV (disputatio) 23:47, 17 Octobris 2012 (UTC)
