Salve, Harrisime!

Gratus in Vicipaediam Latinam acciperis!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" fieri velle!

Unde selegisti hanc figuram? Inveni Ledesia hic.--Ioshus (disp) 19:07, 7 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was hardly for no reason...I warned you here and on the disputatio page of Leodis... See Ledesia...--Ioshus (disp) 20:09, 7 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

replying to the reply you deleted[fontem recensere]

Why would it be called Leodis?? I deleted it because Leodis is not a useful redirect...it is not a form that anyone searching would look for. We even have a page on here somewhere that lists the proper name of places in England. It would only have made sense to keep it and make it a redirect if it were a useful redirect in the first place. I just deleted it and created the article under the proper title. You might also look to see how Massimo improved this article to meet our editing standards. You were not rude, sorry if I was hasty, I'm getting ready to leave work...--Ioshus (disp) 20:18, 7 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I afterwards added a redirect from Leodis, because I think you are not the only person familiar with that name for Leeds.
As to your question to the Legatio, well, keep watching and editing and see what you think. (Many of us do make contributions elsewhere as well.) Vicipaedia is still small and its readership is small, but small things have been known to grow. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:53, 8 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your (very useful) editing[fontem recensere]

Note that we don't add English names for places (unless the basic/original name for the place or person is in English). Native names (and classical Greek names where relevant) yes indeed. If you see an added English name for non-Anglophone places or things, it's because it hasn't been edited out. English names can be found by clicking the interwiki link to English Wikipedia. The problem with the image of the seal of Sicagum is that the image file is currently on en:wikipedia. Before it can be used by other projects, it has to be uploaded to Commons. Which should be unproblematic in this case, since it is public domain. Do you feel like trying?
To determine this in the future, you have to click on the image -- in whatever wiki you found it -- and see whether it says "the description of this image in on Commons". If so, you're laughing. You can use it immediately. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 11:39, 9 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your recent edits[fontem recensere]

Have been very useful. Just wanted to say thanks for doing that busy work. I hope you don't think I have any ill will towards you or The north of England over the Leeds thing, I just honestly couldn't find a source. Anyways, cheers.--Ioshus (disp) 23:04, 9 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the insult you wrote on my page[fontem recensere]

Actually I just reread your first comment on my disputatio page. That's a pretty childish, and useless way to make a remark/ask a question. Just because you can't/didn't/don't use a dictionary to write your articles hardly makes me that, ey? I made an improvement to your article in good faith, and I am repaid with slander? I'm more upset and disappointed by your childishness, than I am offended by your vulgar and coarse remark.--Ioshus (disp) 12:53, 11 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope we can drop this. I have complied with your request to replace the two words, which you certainly had no trouble typing on my page, for the record, now you comply with mine. Don't delete my posts!--Ioshus (disp) 18:14, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you might have the courtesy, also, of removing serve from my page...--Ioshus (disp) 18:15, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Will do, boss!--Harrissimo

forgive/forget[fontem recensere]

  1. Please do not remove my posts from your talk page.
  2. You did delete it 5 seconds later, but then you changed the insult to serve, which for all the world appears to be the vocative of servus. So you merely exchanged insults, as I see it, not deleted.
  3. I can forgive sure. I'm probably not going to forget, though.

semi protecta[fontem recensere]

If your IP address friend keeps deleting my posts, I will protect your talk page so that only registered users may edit it. --Ioshus (disp) 20:15, 12 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now I warn you: If you blank my edits to your talk page again, I will be forced to block you. It's over, let's move on, but do not blank what I have written as I had every right to address your disrespectful comment.--Ioshus (disp) 17:31, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to want deep down to be a useful contributor. However, you insulted an admin twice, with coarse and vulgar language. Added to that, you are disobeying a very simple request not to blank my edits to your page. One side of you is useful, one side seems to be rash and irresponsible. I have warned you that you will be blocked if you keep this up. I am serious. You must learn to say what you mean and mean what you say on Wikipedia. What you type is visible forever.--Ioshus (disp) 17:44, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

aliis linguis[fontem recensere]

Furthermore, i don't understand a word of either language you have typed on my page besides English and Latin. Save us both time, and stick to one we both know, huh?--Ioshus (disp) 18:16, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Will do, boss!--Harrissimo
Actually, that's not entirely true...I understood most of the Polish... still, stick to English, Russian, Latin, or a Romance dialect.--Ioshus (disp) 18:23, 13 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
