Salve, Emufarmers!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle!

Libenter me pete quaestiones ullas. Gratus apud nos!--Ioshus Rocchio 01:53, 6 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

few things:[fontem recensere]

I have a few questions about the site itself, though; why're the privacy policy, about page, and and general
disclaimer (aside from a non-functional hard redirect) missing? Is this intentional, or just an oversight, or an area
which needs attention

I assure you it was not a curse upon your first born =]! Mostly just a big hello and some links and such to help new users.

  • Privacy policy...on a few pages, dealing with the US and with Chile, especially, have been semiprotected because of repeated vandalism by anonymous users.
  • About page...I do not understand your inquiry...
  • General disclaimer...see Chilia, i thought we had put up disclaimers?
  • MANY AREAS NEED ATTENTION!!! =] Please, talk with users Usor:Roland2 (another admin, he also is an la-0, but has been extremely, vitally useful here, and user Usor:UV (he has pretty decent latin). Both of them are wikipowerful both in technical and social/procedural aspects, and are among the most prolific and useful active members. I mainly translate and offer historical/linguistic advice on whatever they tell me needs attention, as my wikipowers are small, and my general computing knowledge is smaller.

Anything else?--Ioshus Rocchio 19:42, 6 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I should add, Roland just fakes at being an la-0, he is more of an la-1.5 =].--Ioshus Rocchio 19:44, 6 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is odd I agree, and I have been working alot on getting these messages up to speed, I have only been an administrator for a month, and at the only time am the only active one with more or less fluent latin. Alot of the system messages were poorly translated originally, and many still have not been done. We are hurting for admins here, so unfortunately we can't just delegate responsibility to one admin for everything, because we need to stay on top of a bunch of other stuff. Check out Disputatio_Usoris:UV#this_wiki and similar discussions on my talk page. I assure you, we're working on it, and if you see anything that needs attention, please inform me.--Ioshus Rocchio 23:12, 6 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By all means! I will be glad to go over whatever you translate, and post it. Thanks you.--Ioshus Rocchio 23:23, 6 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

pornography[fontem recensere]

Let me get back to you. I would suggest, as background reading, any/all of Judith Hallett's work on the subject, she is all but the doyenne on the ancient perspective on sexuality of all sorts, but what exactly "pornography" translates to I can't answer off the top of my head. Ars erotica, certainly would convery the meaning, pornographia looks rights, but I don't know. Website a little easier. Check this source for "in interrete situs". There are other translations, I'm sure. I've usually seen pagina domestica as home page.--Ioshus Rocchio 08:51, 30 Iulii 2006 (UTC)--Ioshus Rocchio 08:51, 30 Iulii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
