The official welcome ... ;-)

Salve, Dbmag9!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle! --Roland2 23:25, 25 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject on lingua Latina[fontem recensere]

I've seen your message, however, I fear that I myself cannot contribute much to this project because I've forgotten much of what I knew about Latin. - Be warned: There are not so many people here, who are active in the taberna. Sometimes you have to ask twice if you want an answer. ;-) --Roland2 23:25, 25 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your prompt reply! I don't believe that you could know less Latin than me, and besides the project needs as many people as it can get. I noticed that there seem to be a group of about 5 users who seem to have done about 90% of everything I've found. Dbmag9 17:51, 26 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you stay long enough, you'll see that it's about 5-10 people who do almost everything on here. But don't let Roland fool you, his latin is fine, but his modesty is even better. I'm big on the lingua latina project, but it will take a lot of organization and consensus about where and how to proceed. The cases pages need rewrites, mea sententia, and the declension pages need consistent naming, right now we have declinatio prima, secunda, tertia, and then U declinatio and I think E declinatio for 4th and 5th. We should establish a hierarchy of importance and go from there. Ehjort and I attempted to do this in the taberna, but I don't think much went from there, unfortunately. I've been busy with some music theory articles, and other non vici related projects, but I agree that it needs attention.--Ioshus Rocchio 19:10, 26 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Very true. Is there an accepted translation of Wikiproject? Vicicollaboratio, or Collaboratio Vici seems appropriate, but I don't know if there is a prearranged way of translating wiki- words. I'd be happy to write articles about grammar in broken Latin (I'll try my best :) ). I think it needs a project page for any real coordination. What do you think of the name? Daniel () 19:18, 26 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Latin is as synthetic as English if not more, so I think we should adhere to the neologistic trend of english in making wikicompound words. Vicicollaboratio sounds good to me, run it by Myces or Tbook, the active admins with the best Latin (Iustinus has great Latin, too, but he is temporarily MIA]]), to make sure.
As for broken Latin...be bold, others will correct errors you make. Errando discimus after all. This is not to say you shouldn't try to write your best, but there are several people on here with really good Latin who will be happy to help. That's the point of a collaboratio.--Ioshus Rocchio 19:24, 26 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Be bold, indeed, but if you know something is wrong tag it with {{reddenda}} or {{maxcorrigenda}}. This will display { {reddenda} } or { {maxcorrigenda} } respectively the templates (--Rolandus 21:22, 10 Martii 2007 (UTC)), and will alert other users to the problem, that they might more quickly take action.--Ioshus Rocchio 19:28, 27 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I improved the German text a bit. Just a bit ... ;-) --Roland2 22:53, 27 Aprilis 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Colores formularum[fontem recensere]

Much better now. :-) --Roland2 12:25, 1 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad you agree. I went through a couple and that looked nicest. Daniel () 12:26, 1 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vicicollaboratio[fontem recensere]

Sorry to be slow to respond to your message - I had been away for a while. Collaboro is definately a classical latin word, so collaboratio is not too big a stretch, and so vicicollaboratio seems sensible. I wish you the best on the project! --Tbook 19:37, 3 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I got the same advice from Myces, so the project is now up. Go to Vicipaedia:Vicicollaboratio Lingua Latina if you want to help. Daniel () 17:18, 4 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vote for adminship...[fontem recensere]

Dear Daniel,

your vote for adminship shall be surely appreciated, but until our heroes don't accept my invitation votes shall be useless. I think it's a good idea if you turn your vote into a "support" written under my invitation, something like a reinforcement. If Josh, Tbook or Roland accept, then it'll be the time to turn your support back into a proper vote. Since adminship is "all duty, little privilege" it's obvious that we have to encourage without injecting pressure on them. Thanks for your patience. - εΔω 19:36, 12 Maii 2006 (UTC)

Redirect + Category[fontem recensere]

You said here, that it did not work? I found out that the REDIRECT must be the start of the page, see example in Vicipaedia:Redirectio#Technologia. Does it work now? --Roland2 15:33, 28 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, it works now. I did have it after the REDIRECT before, but evidently I confused the program. Daniel () 15:44, 28 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fine! :-) --Roland2 16:06, 28 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary adminship on la.wikibooks[fontem recensere]

Hello Dbmag9. You are now granted a temporary adminship on la.wikibooks, valid until next July 31st. Thank you for the localization work. Bye. --195.75.15.2 07:01, 30 Maii 2006 (UTC) m:User:Paginazero not logged[reply]

Cur non nobis descripsisti, de re magna?

j--Ioshus Rocchio 07:15, 30 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is that "Why have you not described to us the great matter?" If so, I felt that this wasn't really the place to request help on another wiki. However, I did intend to put a message about it on my user page. Daniel () 08:56, 30 Maii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, man, what's up? I'm going through Categoria:Deletiones propositae and I just wanted to know exactly what you meant to say in Vicipaedia:Compendium so I can clean it up. Thanks!--Ioshus Rocchio 03:37, 10 Iunii 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was meant to be a simple guide to what shortcuts were and how to make them. If you feel it isn't necessary delete it freely. Daniel () 12:45, 10 Iunii 2006 (UTC)[reply]
