Disputatio Categoriae:Seleucidae

De nomine categoriae[fontem recensere]

I don't think we can call them "Reges Seleuciae", can we? Seleucia is the name of some cities, but not the name of their kingdom or even their capital. One possibility is Categoria:Seleucidae (the name of their dynasty, often used in shorthand for their kingdom as well). Other suggestions? Hmm... youre right. Sorry, it was a cheap copy-over. I was a lazy Latinist today. I like your idea, although "Princeps" and "rector" are possibilities. They dont hold the title of "satraps" after Seleucus, do they? CeleritasSoni 17:05, 6 Octobris 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so I have now created Categoria:Seleucidae (for the dynasty) and Categoria:Regnum Seleucidarum (for the territory/kingdom/empire). I have a suspicion that only in modern times has it been elevated to empire, and that Greeks and Romans called it a kingdom, but I'm very probably wrong.
