Cur "Ophiculus" ("en:Ophiuchus")?

I know there are parts of that constellation through which the Ecliptic passes, but it's not one of the 12 traditional "Signs of the Zodiac". Someone with better Latin than mine should try to distinguish. A translation from "en" should suffice. Even Astrologia may have to be briefly mentioned.
