Según la etimología, "distito" seria districtum, pero esta palabra no se parezca se usar así en Latín. Era en alguna parte una discusión de como debe el frase ingles "District of Columbia" traducirse, pero no puedo buscarlo. Also, please excuse my Spanish, which is mediocre at best. --Iustinus 02:31, 12 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Iustinus tiene razon. Districtus significa "muy occupado, dirigido de muchas direcciones". La traduccion correcta de "distrito" es regio o campus or vica, dependiendo en el uso. Aqui corresponde regio, o bien, regio foederalis--Rafaelgarcia 06:39, 12 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll change to Regio Foederalis; not necessarily the final answer, but at least it is correct Latin. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 19:22, 17 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Disagreeing with myself, I have now moved again, to Pagus Foederalis. A pagus is a small administrative area, and therefore, I think, much closer to "distrito" or "district" than the usual sense of regio. What do others feel about that? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 09:25, 15 Octobris 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Pagus seems the better choice according to Words:
pag.us               N      2 1 NOM S M
pagus, pagi  N (2nd) M   [XXXCO]
country district/community, canton;
