Both Hofmann and Graesse give Tirolis (with Tyrolis as alternative). Unless anyone objects, I'll move to Tirolis Meridionalis. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 20:59, 11 Maii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I moved instead to Tirolis Meridiana as suggested by a local source. I don't understand the point of the following section:

Versio Latine[fontem recensere]

  • Latine versione Germana: Provincia autonoma Bauzani - Tirolum Meridionale
  • Latine versione Itala: Provincia autonoma Bauzani - Alta Athesia

Are they just helpful translations of rival names, or is there something official about these Latin forms? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 12:09, 25 Iunii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No one has answered, so I have now put these unexplained forms into a footnote. The recent change of name to Tirolis Meridionalis introduced an error to the first sentence: whatever name we prefer, the name used by Iosephus Mallius was Tirolis Meridiana, so I have corrected the sentence to restore that small fact. I had overlooked that "meridiana" is attested. I found an 18th century "Tirolis pars meridionalis". --Alex1011 15:16, 25 Decembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, Alex! Meridionalis is certainly our usual word for "southern" on Vicipaedia. Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 17:59, 25 Decembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
