I would just add a remark about Ovid's use of the word "poscor". Perhaps we might see in this verb a humoristic allusion to the way the foundation of Pales' temple had been reported in the Annales Pontificii and by other old annalists. Nam ex his fontibus Florus relationem suam duxit cum scribit : "templum sibi pastoria Pales ultro poposcit" (I,15). She's a goddess who lets someone know what she wants ! Quite in Ovid's manner.
