Salve et Taberna et Legatio[fontem recensere]

I think we should have something like that on the pagina prima, maybe above section "Encyclopaedia":

Salve

Salve et vide etiam Tabernam. ...

Legatio (Latina) Embassy (English speaking) Botschaft (deutschsprachig)...

--Rolandus 10:34, 13 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added it. Please tell me if you do not like it. --Rolandus 20:41, 3 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would do it like this:
Salve

Salve et vide etiam Tabernam.

Legatio (Latina) Embassy (English speaking) Botschaft (deutschsprachig)...

Or was your idea to indicate all languages were welcome in the taberna? I think in the Babel page, we were using the UN flag to indicate all languages =P --Ioshus (disp) 21:41, 3 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this was the idea, but we could have a BIG Latin and small other flags for the taberna. --Rolandus 21:52, 3 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Setting up new accounts[fontem recensere]

My First Visit: Sorry this is English, and please move/delete this comment as appropriate, but it begs my point in getting an acct -- I kept typing Roman numerals to answer the tripwire arithmetic. It took a few times to get my new acct info to take. I think the tripwire Q and/or the answer should be in Roman numerals (in upper or lower case), with Latin captioning; there's also something to be said for a combo of the two numbering systems (e.g. 25 - 1 = xxiv, or the reverse). --Marqvess 07:30, 31 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First the good news: English is ok on this page and you have suceeded in taking an account here. ;-) The bad news: I think we do not have that control over the software to change it's behaviour in this aspect and secondly, we have this: Vicipaedia:Numeri Romani. Wellcome here! :-) --Rolandus 07:45, 31 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers for taking this to a new section within minutes. Me, my labmates and Latin students will have a field day with this issue. Perhaps a wiki latin.php module will do. Stay tuned.--Marqvess 08:07, 31 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Latinspeakers[fontem recensere]

I'm not trying to advertize or anything, but this is a great Latin forum. Membership is free, and we need members! I thought you guys would be the type who would be interested:

Is there a resource on this site that can possibly help me with latin translations at all?

Sure, its many users!!! Contact me on my talk page, I'd be glad to help.--Ioshus (disp) 20:40, 6 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Babel template for native Hungarian speakers please[fontem recensere]

Salve! Ego sum Hungaricus, but I can't put a babel with Hungarian as native language because it doesn't exist. Could you please create it? Gratias! --Zoltan 18:46, 17 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Likewise Rapanui & Samoan. IacobusAmor 19:59, 17 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We had {{usor haw-1}} and I have just created {{usor haw-3}}. You can copy these templates and adopt them. I have not found "sam" or "rap" on the English Wikipedia. --Rolandus 20:18, 17 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone oppose to linking our sandbox from the main page? Maybe it will help with vandalism?--Ioshus (disp) 00:44, 21 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. --Rolandus 06:55, 21 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Latine igitur scribitur?[fontem recensere]

84.123.68.63 21:30, 6 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aye aye captain!--Ioshus (disp) 21:37, 6 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fortasse gravius tibi responsurus sim: Opus est nobis encyclopaediam Latine scriptam struere, non disputationes. Si lingua alia facilius finem hanc nostram adveniamus, ipsa loquamur. Cur tam offensumst hoc tibi? Vide Vicipaedia:Latinitas.--Ioshus (disp) 21:44, 6 Martii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haud sum Latinitatis dominus. Nihilominus sum, cum amicis, quorum, certe, sunt Latinistae optimi, dominus magistratus Vicipaediae.--Ioscius (disp) 17:46, 27 Iulii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Optimé, cave ergo tamen ne tu amicique tui tam bono dominatu magistratu fugare pergatis ab hóc incepto omnes veré optimos Latinistas.
Crede quae velis, pro certo, at quaesumus, regulas nostras commoraturus esto.--Ioscius (disp) 16:04, 26 Iulii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Regulas nostras"? Lingua Latina habet traditionem multorum sæculorum; non potes/potestis (quicumque es/estis) eam traditionem ignorare regulasque absurdissimas imponere tantum quia in quodam libro scholastico discentibus destinato aliquis usus adhibeatur.
