- The spelling in the text (Maciavellus), inserted by an anonym and never corrected, has (practically) no authority. The proposed Maclavellus is indeed well attested, but there are attestations for our current Machiavellus too. Do we want to change? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 16:51, 21 Septembris 2008 (UTC)

- Despite the funeral inscription, the right name is that used by the man himself. The Latin dedication of Il principe is: Nicolaus Maclavellus ad magnificum Lavrentium Medicem. --Neander 01:47, 22 Septembris 2008 (UTC)
