The only thing I can find is Guillaume Libri in reference to his latin pen name. Can anyone confirm this as an indeclinable form he used in latin documents (I know he was bad in latin himself, but surely his work was translated, I just can't seem to find it).--Ioshus (disp) 04:38, 29 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That sort of thing is not unheard of, but still strange. I found a Latin form with only the surname: Calculi infinitesimalis: Pars I, Seu Calculus differentialis, expositus Analysi infinite parcorum d. marchionis Hospitalii. Unfortunately this was published in 1764, well after Monsieur le Marquis's death, but it's still an attestation. WOuld be nice to find something earlier, because, as you say, there surely was something. --Iustinus 05:21, 29 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ADDENDVM: There seem to be a lot of hits, actually, for Marchio Hospitalius --Iustinus 05:24, 29 Ianuarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Iustine...that link didn't quite work. I'm curious, so please resend, or tell me what entry you looked up (I read a page on e, not a or abs. Thanks.--Ioshus (disp) 09:04, 4 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sorry, that's what I get for trying to link to perseus in the bleedin' edit summary. Of course if you were not half-asleep already, you would already have guessed that I was talking about the endtry for ab. The first section, of course, has a long discussion on all the various allomorphs. --Iustinus 09:10, 4 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, I'm 3/4 asleep...--Ioshus (disp) 09:16, 4 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See, I'm only 3/8 asleep. But then we're in different time zones. --Iustinus 09:21, 4 Februarii 2007 (UTC)[reply]
