Nomen in lege Ecclesiae Angliae est Ecclesia Anglicana non Anglica. Ecclesia Anglicana pars et mater Communionis Anglicanae est. Liber Precum Publicarum (The Book of Common Prayer in lingua latina in versione anno 1662) habet hunc titulum officialem: Liber Precum Publicarum et administrationis sacramentorum aliorumque ecclesiae rituum caermoniarumque secundum usum ECCLESIAE ANGLICANAE cum Pslaterio Davidico in modum quo in ecclesiis vel cantandum vel dicendum est distincto; accedit ordo et ritus faciendi, ordinandi, consecrandi, episcopos, presbyteros, et diaconos. An even apter citation appears to be in Magna Carta. However, the original name (seventh century) was ecclesia Anglorum, followed by ecclesia Angliae and later (twelfth century) by ecclesia Anglicana and rarely by ecclesia Anglica. Eventually, ecclesia Anglicana prevailed. The fundamental question for an encyclopedia is whether to privilege the earliest historical form or the current one. Ah, but that's the trick! The English church is said to have been in existence for centuries before its affiliation with Rome, in 596, when it "surrendered its independence" (see en:Anglicanism) and had to endure nearly a millennium of foreign ecclesiastical domination before Henry VIII restored its ancient liberty. :) IacobusAmor (disputatio) 13:33, 14 Maii 2016 (UTC)[reply]
