Very useful page. I query the name for a mere practical reason: I think we'll certainly need a category for this semi-fictional gentleman, and it's best to agree on the name before creating it. In many other languages the Spanish form "Don Juan" is retained, but not all. What should we do? Andrew Dalby (disputatio) 19:30, 4 Iunii 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We reasoned that, since Spanish & Italian don reflects Latin dominus, and since Juan = Giovanni = Ioannes, the combination Dominus Ioannes would be apt. Indeed, googling tells us that lots of people have been called Dominus Ioannes, including the late pope, Dominus Ioannes Paulus Pp. II. IacobusAmor (disputatio) 11:38, 5 Iunii 2012 (UTC)[reply]
