Neuter accusatives[fontem recensere]

Re: "the meaning is "many salts, ceramic materials and water...form crystals, but with inverted order"—yeah, but since neuter nouns aren't marked in the accusative, the likelier reading of Crystalla formant is 'Crystals form', and later in the sentence, the reader has to wonder what went wrong. The context has been talking about crystals, and the salts (etc.) come as a surprise, so they shouldn't be the subject. Good prose doesn't zigzag like that, in any language.
