Sus ... suis ... suorum[fontem recensere]

How would you say, "Hog's Island," or "Island of the Hog" (one hog, singular)? I would have thought suis, because the dictionary says sus, suis, so I gather that suis would be genetivus. What does suorum mean? LionhardusCiampa 01:15, 16 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Insula Suum = Island of Hogs (island where you're likely to find hogs); i.e., Hogs' Island = Hog's Island. Who cares about apostrophes, especially in 1636? ¶ The genitive plural of sus is suum, not suorum. IacobusAmor 01:28, 16 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
