Area Agonalis: regio?

Cassell's: "regio, a quarter, ward, in Rome: Tac[itus]." ¶ area ~ 'spatium': "super planissima campi area" (Ovid). IacobusAmor (disputatio) 15:13, 8 Aprilis 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to have to state the obvious but the best word for piazza is already used in the test, namely "platea", the latin word from which we today get plaza, piazza, and place, depending on your choice of modern language. The original meaning is "broad street" or "avenue" and this certainly describes what the piazza is here based on the pictures given, does it not?...118.169.164.212 16:31, 8 Aprilis 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you are right, at least for a square not too much designed. St. Peter's Square - according to it:Piazza San Pietro was called "Platea Sancti Petri" till the XV. century, Piazza Navona till the XVII. century "Platea Agonalis" (cf. [1].--Utilo (disputatio) 21:19, 8 Aprilis 2013 (UTC)[reply]
