Ioshe, my brain must not be working this morning, but I can't figure out

A sonus clavum primus A minorum et A maiorum est.

Could you put this in English for me? ("Of keys, the sound A is the first of the major A's and of the minor A's." "The sound A is the first of the keys A of the minors and A of the majors"? If those are close to the sense, are they really true? For sonus primus, do you mean radix? or would it be better to refer to scales, not keys?) Maybe I need another cup of coffee. Also: why did you put the copulative est at the end? That placement often guarantees ambiguity. See today's addition to my disputatio, under "A B est / A est B." Yeah I mean radix! What is the right word for scale as apposed to key? Copulative est is an awful error.--Ioshus (disp) 15:31, 26 Septembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"A (sonus)" -- nonne debeat "A (tonus)" esse (cf. tonus) ? --Neander 14:23, 2 Septembris 2010 (UTC)[reply]
