The Red Cross is one of only a handful of aid organisations with the access and set up to help those caught up in the crisis. These vehicles are equipped with radio transmitters to keep in close contact with support teams as they pass through conflict areas. As well as getting staff access to affected areas, these vehicles have helped get people with severe injuries to bigger hospitals in the capital of Bangui. The UK is providing emergency healthcare, clean water, food and logistical support to hundreds of thousands of people across CAR in response to the severe escalation in the humanitarian crisis.
