The Long Lane est nomen mediaevale viae cuiusdam Romanae quae per comitatus Derbiensem et Staffordiensem a Derventione usque ad Rocester et Draycott in the Moor extendit, indeque (si recte interpretatur) per Chesterton ad Salinas: ibi iter a Blatobulgio Mediolanum attingitur, in Itinerario Antonini descriptum. Si inde usque ad Condate pergitur, iter ab Eboraco Devam attingitur.
