Os hyoides[1][2] sive hyoideum [3] est parvum os infra linguam, solum ossium corporis qui cum aliis ossibus non colligatus est. Nonnullis in Tetrapodis (velut Chamaeleonidis) os hyoides linguam sustinet rigidamque facit, itaque potest linguae extroflexione fungi.
