Insula Banaba,[1] breviter Banaba, olim Insula Oceani, est insula in Oceanus Pacificus, singulare atollum curalii elevatum, ad occidentem catenae Insularum Gilbertensium et 300 chiliometra ad orientem insulae Nauru iacens. Ea est pars Reipublicae Kiribati. Area superficialis est 6.5 chiliometra quadrata,[2] et summus locus est etiam summus reipublicae locus, 81 metra (266 pedes) super maris aequor. Cum Nauru et Makatea (in Polynesia Francica), Banaba est elevata phosphatis insula magni momenti in Oceano Pacifico.[3]
