Geogonia
Geogonia (Italiane geogonia[1]) est antiqua et obsoleta scientiae notio de conformatione historiaque telluris. Geogony, vocabulum Anglicum, ab Eduardo Hancock, geologo Americano et praeside Collegii Amherstensis, in libro definitivo late saeculo undevicensimo a scholasticis universitariis lecto sic definiebatur:
Aliquot scriptores geologiam in duas provincias digerunt: 1. Geognosiam, vel geologiam positivam, quae solum notas huius scientiae res amplectitur. 2. Geogoniam, vel geologiam coniecturabilem, quae causas illarum rerum, ac conclusiones ex eis extractas, indicare conatur.[2][3]
