Object history acquired through the Scots College, Paris
Notae This portrait is believed to have come from the Scots College in Paris. Tradition of the college was that Mary herself gave it to the college when she was Dauphine of France, although this is somewhat dubious as the portrait is thought to have been painted some 50 years after her death!
