When I was in Dubrovnik I learned that the city has had several Latin names throughout its history, like at least three. Unfortunately I don't recall any of the other ones. --Iustinus 13:11, 16 Maii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Communitas Ragusina, Respublica Ragusina ? I find them on it.wiki. Ciao--Massimo Macconi 14:26, 16 Maii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find any other names but those. My old Encyclopaedia Britannica says it was known as Ragusa since before the 10th century, and that it was founded in the 7th century by refugees from the destroyed cities of Salona and Epidaurus (Dalmatia) (but those are different places). Theoretically there is room for another name in there, from 7th to 9th centuries, but if there was one, the Ency. Brit. doesn't say what it was. Massimo- no, I mean entirely different names, not connected to Ragusa. Wish I could remember what they were! --Iustinus 15:20, 16 Maii 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, Leontopolis?? --Iustinus (disputatio) 02:18, 16 Novembris 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, it must have been Epidaurus Novus! --Iustinus (disputatio) 02:40, 11 Ianuarii 2013 (UTC)[reply]
