Or maybe res nataliciae?--Ioshus (disp) 16:37, 25 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess Categoria:Nativitas is fine. Should we move the stuff from …sollemnia… over to this category or is there a reason to keep both? --UV 16:48, 25 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you know my opinion...all that solemnia nonsense is a bit overdramatic for an encyclopedia. It's christmas, not the solemn birth of our lord and saviour in whose footsepts we must follow... yknow? I would say that Categoria:Nativitas is pretty sufficient.--Ioshus (disp) 17:01, 25 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm not sure what you mean because as the saying goes "Jesus is the reason for the season". Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth. Alexanderr 01:08, 26 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Let's not get into it, please. Christmas is the christian pillage of myriad pagan holidays. Christ's birth was/is a convenient excuse to have a party during the same time of year as everyone else. Can we please just leave it as nativitas, and not bring in anything else?--Ioshus (disp) 07:49, 26 Decembris 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is trying to be about the (originally American) concept of "Santa Claus," but the names given as lemmata—Pater Natalis, Pater Natalicius, pappus natali—appear, superficially at least, to be more pertinent to "Father Christmas," an altogether different concept & article. Perhaps the lemma Sanctus Claus would be apter here. After all, we have a published attestation! (See the translation of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" on the second page, i.e., "Pagina Prima.") Or "Sanctus Claus" could be the principal lemma and the others could remain as alternatives. No matter what the lemma, this article should retain its link to "Santa Claus," because that's the certified item on the 10,000-word list at Meta.
