It is OK to Latinize proper names (add Latin endings, change a couple of the letters, etc.), but proper names should not be litterally translated. Tom/Thomas, even though it means twin, should not be translated into the Latin word for twin (geminus). Latinization is the common convention when it comes to names, but literal translations just make things awkward and unnecessarily confusing. -KedemusKedemus 04:03, 17 Septembris 2007 (UTC)[reply]
