In principle, it's risky to translate onomatopoeic and descriptive terminology from one language to another. Although the sound and its source are objectively the same, each language has its own, conventionalised take on the world of sounds. In Finnish, for instance, there's a different word for almost every sound source type mentioned in the article. Though there's quite a lot of overlapping between growling and fremitus, some philological work must be undertaken in order to cover the whole semantic field of fremitus. And, as said above, this goes for virtually any onomatopoeic / descriptive term. --Neander 01:20, 12 Maii 2010 (UTC)[reply]
