Hot topic, butwhy is Malvinae Insulae redirecting to Falklandia? Please, note that I do not want to enter into political debate here -thankfully this is not es:wiki- but wouldn't it be more logical to have the direct entry to the Latin based name rather than the Germanic one?--Xaverius 22:59, 7 Octobris 2007 (UTC)

- I think it should be pointed out that both Britian and Argentina still both claim the islands as part of their countries and that the British call it the Falkland islands while the Argentians call it the Malvinas islands. --Rafaelgarcia 23:49, 7 Octobris 2007 (UTC)

- This sounds fair. I know the naming of the Falklands is highly controversial; some wikis have even called their articles things like "Malvinas - Falklands". I only changed the name because I thought it was more proper that the people who live on the island should have priority. So the islands known as East and West Falkland would be known as "Malvina Orientalis + Occidentalis"? Harrissimo.

- There is an exceptionally thin line between these two articles. I made Insulae Malvinae and I have removed some of the information from this page. Have I done right? Should the section on this article starting hae insulae... also be moved over? Harrissimo.

- I made some edits to put both names on equal footing since the naming apparently is a political issue between Britain and Argentina. However, it is possible I am making too much of that, so if you feel otherwise feel free to change it back.--Rafaelgarcia 21:45, 8 Octobris 2007 (UTC)
- That's all OK with me. I don't want one of these sprawling debates that have happened on English, Spanish (and I guess many other) wikipedias where people just shout "POV" at each other. As long as the real name of the island is the title and alternate names are noted and the political situation explained, it's all fine. Harrissimo.
